CRAFTS IN ACTION

The Sussex Guild "Crafts in Action" has been at Michelham Priory for many years. The show is sited in the Elizabethan Great Barn and in small marquees along the drive and behind the barn. There will be a wide range of beautiful craftwork on display and for sale from Guild members and selected guest exhibitors. There will also be craft demonstrations including pottery and a working forge.

CONTEMPORARY CRAFT SHOW

This will be The Sussex Guild's 10th year at Pashley and the craft show will be situated in a large marquee in front of the Manor House. The show will feature about forty exhibitors who will be displaying work of the highest standard, with a number of members showing for the first time. There will also be Guest Exhibitors and some live craft demonstrations.

Work on display and for sale will include: kiln formed glass, semi-abstract porcelain bird forms, embellished textiles, fine wood furniture, light reflective & iridescent lustreware, seamless felt vessels, enriched textured wall hangings, wax resist paintings on silk & wood engravings, bold & sculptural precious metal & gemstone jewellery, contemporary metalwork and wood turned bowls.

Light lunches and afternoon teas are served from the licensed Garden Room Cafe and visitors can enjoy their refreshments on the terrace overlooking the moat or in the Jubilee Courtyard. Pashley prides itself on providing, where possible, locally sourced and homemade food.

The special reduced admission charge, for this weekend only, is £6.00 for adults and £5.00 for children, giving entry to both the Craft Show and Gardens. Entrance is free for children under the age of 6.

Make Christmas shopping an enjoyable experience at the Sussex Guild winter exhibition in Ditchling. This annual event provides a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in which visitors can meet the Guild designer makers, and also affords a chance to purchase unique and beautiful craftwork from the region's finest selected craftspeople. On show will be a stunning array of original artworks in wood, glass, ceramics, jewellery, textiles and other media.

The event will be held in three venues in Ditchling - in the Village Hall and in St Margaret's Primary School and in the beautiful and historic St Margaret's Church.

A new event on the Guild’s calendar of selling exhibitions. It will be a wonderful opportunity to meet, and buy directly from, more than 40 members of the Guild. The stunning contemporary and traditional work on show will range from sparkling jewellery, glowing glass, glorious ceramics, woodturning, furniture by renowned makers, textiles in the form of both wearable and hangable art, leatherwork and metalwork.

Hurstpierpoint College is easily accessible with plenty of free parking.

For the fourth year running, the historic Inner Close of Winchester Cathedral will host the Christmas Market. Inspired by traditional German Christmas Markets, it will be made up of 91 wooden chalets festively decorated, selling inspiring, tasteful and beautiful gifts to please even the most discerning shopper.
I will be showing in the hand-made-in-Britain section.
